Who is Kate Hepworth


A 20 year resident of Caledon who, after a 25 year career in Parry Sound EMS/Fire Dispatch brings the ability to listen, be a critical thinker and to be there when needed.

Kate brings a willingness to roll up her sleeves and get involved.

Being in a career of communication, Kate brings the willingness to meet with residents who wish to learn more about what is happening in their ward and beyond. Accountability to residents does not stop at Ward 1 boundaries.

Kate already has a proven track record of delegating at Town Council and the Region of Peel on items that need to be addressed.

Kate does not believe in a free ride, communicating and reporting back to all residents is a priority.

What is my commitment to you?

Community: Serving you to protect a balanced lifestyle, your health (water, air, green space) your safety, your financial municipal stability (taxes)

 

Road Safety: Advocating for safer roads, improved driver training, licensing on all levels, increased local enforcement, 

 

Communication: Delivering timely and understandable updates to the public through emails, phone calls, social media and  in person village and hamlet meetings while also being accessible to questions and queries.

Summary of Volunteered Community Engagement

 

 - April of 2017 joined Caledon Village Association (CVA) and became President in April 2018.

 

- Along with other members of the CVA, created partnerships with other community groups to enhance activities for all ages for Caledon Village and surrounding areas including including but not limited to the Caledon Agricultural Society, Optimists, Caledon Lions, Caledon OPP, Bright Start and Forks of the Credit Preservation.

- September 13th 2018 delegated at the Region of Peel requesting the new

model for EMS be re considered given the anticipated response time impact on Caledon.

​

- Attended the very first meeting in Cataract about the possible CBM quarry Feb 2019.

​

- October 22nd 2019 delegated at Caledon Town Council meeting regarding revenue

made from a $1.7 million dollar investment in the Equestrian Park.

​

- 2020 saw COVID and the move toward virtual council meetings, an easy way for

residents to stay informed and participate from home that continues today.

​

- March 6th 2021 petition started in regards to the Townhouse application in

Caledon Village, the application went to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) where I participated on behalf of the CVA during the hearing. 

​

- April 26th 2021 delegated to the Town of Caledon council on behalf of residents who own campers/trailers longer than the 6m length restriction.

What followed were new guidelines based on size of lot and driveway size.

​

- Member in good standing of Gravel Watch Ontario.

​

- Multiple delegations regarding traffic safety including a delegation on how

traffic issues impact the health system and millions of dollars spent

from initial EMS, Fire and Police response to hospital care, to post hospitalization support.

​

- May 20th 2025 delegated at Caledon Council meeting against filling Swan Lake.

​

- June 2nd 2026 delegated at public planning meeting regarding Amrize

application for an expansion which also brought to light that the existing pit

will be going below the water table, the proposed expansion will not.
