A 20 year resident of Caledon who, after a 25 year career in Parry Sound EMS/Fire Dispatch brings the ability to listen, be a critical thinker and to be there when needed.
Kate brings a willingness to roll up her sleeves and get involved.
Being in a career of communication, Kate brings the willingness to meet with residents who wish to learn more about what is happening in their ward and beyond. Accountability to residents does not stop at Ward 1 boundaries.
Kate already has a proven track record of delegating at Town Council and the Region of Peel on items that need to be addressed.
Kate does not believe in a free ride, communicating and reporting back to all residents is a priority.

Challenged the unsuitable proposal for a skateboard facility in Mistywood Park due to a lack of infrastructure.

Served the Caledon Village Association (CVA) since 2017, leading as President until her 2026 campaign launch.

Assessed the Town’s questionable agreement with Lafarge regarding the McLaren Road right-of-way, which resulted in the loss of a scenic trail and taxpayer funds.

Delegated to the Region of Peel in September 2018 to critique an EMS model that threatened slower local response times.

Promoted road safety awareness by documenting excessive vehicle speeds in Caledon Village in October 2019.

Addressed Council regarding the Caledon Equestrian Park, highlighting the use of public funds for private gain with minimal benefit to the community.

Actively engaged with the Forks of the Credit Preservation Group since 2019, opposing blasting quarries in Cataract.

Professional Experience
Parry Sound District General Hospital / Ambulance Dispatch
December 1989 – December 2015
Began employment at Parry Sound District General Hospital as a Porter before moving to Switchboard in 1990.
Provided ambulance dispatch services, coordinating emergency assistance and directing calls to the appropriate resources.
Continued in the role when the ambulance dispatch operation moved to 99 Bowes St. Parry Sound
Worked closely with paramedics and multiple emergency-service partners,
including Fire, OPP and ORNGE Air Ambulance, helping coordinate assistance for people during medical emergencies and other critical situations.
Retired December 9, 2015.
Caledon Community Involvement 2005 – Present
After beginning to travel regularly to Caledon in 2005, Caledon became home while I continued working in Parry Sound.
2011: Became increasingly involved in concerns surrounding Highway 10 and its widening. Attended a community meeting with Councillor Beffort and Ryerson students at Caledon Village Place to discuss opportunities to improve the design of Caledon Village.
2016: Participated in a group of residents raising safety concerns regarding a proposed skateboard park in the Mistywood subdivision, including lighting, water, washroom facilities and its proximity to Highway 10.
 2017: Joined the Caledon Village Association.
 2018: Elected President of the Caledon Village Association.
Aggregate & Land-Use Issues
June 2018: Visited the McLaren pit and raised questions regarding the site rehabilitation.
February 2019: Attended the first community meeting in Cataract concerning the potential CBM quarry.
2019–Present: Participated in municipal discussions and delegations concerning aggregate operations, traffic safety and the impacts of increased truck traffic.
EMS and beyondÂ
September 2018: Delegated to the Region of Peel regarding the proposedew EMS model and concerns about its potential impact on emergency response times in Caledon.
October 2019: Raised concerns about traffic conditions in Caledon Village and began documenting vehicle traffic.
 2019: Delegated to Council regarding investment losses and the Caledon Equestrian Park.
Participated in multiple delegations concerning traffic safety, including the relationship between traffic issues and the health-care system, from initial EMS, Fire and Police response through hospital care and post-hospitalization support.
May 2025: Delegated at Caledon Council regarding the proposed filling of Swan Lake, citing traffic concerns and related objections to the fill itself and health concerns.
May 2025: Participated in the West Caledon Communities Traffic Group delegation concerning Planning and Development Committee about increased truck volumes.
2026 Municipal Engagement
June 1, 2026: Filed with the Town of Caledon to run for Ward 1 Councillor.
June 2, 2026: Delegated at a public Planning meeting regarding the Amrize (Lafarge) application for an expansion. The discussion also brought attention to the existing pit & plans to go below the water table.
 June 23, 2026: Delegated on behalf of Alton residents, at their request, regarding a proposed name change for Beech Grove Sideroad.
Community Focus
Throughout my years in Caledon, I have participated in community meetings, municipal delegations and local organizations on issues including:
- Traffic safety and truck traffic
- Emergency services and response times
- Aggregate operations and quarry applications
- Land-use planning
- Community design and development
- Environmental and water-related concerns
- Local infrastructure and public safety
My community involvement has included working with residents, municipal representatives, community organizations and emergency-service partners to bring local concerns forward through the municipal process.

 Summary of Volunteered Community Engagement

 - April of 2017 joined Caledon Village Association (CVA) and became President in April 2018.
Â
- Along with other members of the CVA, created partnerships with other community groups to enhance activities for all ages for Caledon Village and surrounding areas including including but not limited to the Caledon Agricultural Society, Optimists, Caledon Lions, Caledon OPP, Bright Start and Forks of the Credit Preservation.

- September 13th 2018 delegated at the Region of Peel requesting the new
model for EMS be re considered given the anticipated response time impact on Caledon.
​
- Attended the very first meeting in Cataract about the possible CBM quarry Feb 2019.
​
- October 22nd 2019 delegated at Caledon Town Council meeting regarding revenue
made from a $1.7 million dollar investment in the Equestrian Park.
​
- 2020 saw COVID and the move toward virtual council meetings, an easy way for
residents to stay informed and participate from home that continues today.
​
- March 6th 2021 petition started in regards to the Townhouse application in
Caledon Village, the application went to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) where I participated on behalf of the CVA during the hearing.Â

- April 26th 2021 delegated to the Town of Caledon council on behalf of residents who own campers/trailers longer than the 6m length restriction.
What followed were new guidelines based on size of lot and driveway size.

- Member in good standing of Gravel Watch Ontario.
​
- Multiple delegations regarding traffic safety including a delegation on how
traffic issues impact the health system and millions of dollars spent
from initial EMS, Fire and Police response to hospital care, to post hospitalization support.
​
- May 20th 2025 delegated at Caledon Council meeting against filling Swan Lake.
​
- June 2nd 2026 delegated at public planning meeting regarding Amrize
application for an expansion which also brought to light that the existing pit
will be going below the water table, the proposed expansion will not.
